This month, we are spotlighting Keith Kish, who started as a Business Development Representative with us and grew into his current role as an Account Executive. At BigTime for almost two years, Keith works with other members of our Sales team to assess customer needs and demonstrate how our products can streamline productivity for companies of all sizes and functions.

Can you tell us what your role involves?

My role focuses on engaging with prospective customers. I talk with them to understand their firm’s challenges, goals, and what keeps them up at night. From there, I demonstrate how BigTime can help and how we’ve supported similar firms in reaching their objectives. Success for me is when they either become customers or I guide them toward the right solution.

What advice would you give to someone starting their career?

I’d recommend giving sales a try. Sales offers a broad range of skills and experiences— you interact with different departments and meet all kinds of people. It’s a great way to discover your strengths and see where you want to go next in your career.

How do you stay motivated at work?

I stay motivated by keeping my goals front and center. Knowing that each day at work moves me closer to achieving those goals is a huge motivator. In sales, being driven by earning potential is a big plus, too— every bit of effort can translate into more commission. 

What’s your favorite part about working at BigTime?

Definitely the people! Because we’re a smaller company, you get the chance to collaborate closely with different teams. There’s a real sense of camaraderie here, and we know how to have fun while getting the job done.

How have you grown, both personally and professionally, since joining BigTime?

I started in a Sales Development role and have since moved into an Account Executive position. This promotion brought new challenges, but it’s also helped me expand my skill set every day. The experiences I’m gaining now are preparing me for even more growth in the future.

What achievement are you most proud of, both at work and personally?

One of my main goals when I joined BigTime was to earn a promotion to my current role. Achieving that was a major milestone, and now I’m focused on continuing my career growth.

What would you tell someone considering a career at BigTime?

BigTime is a fantastic place to start because of the flexibility it offers. A lot of people here have started in one department and moved to another, trying new things. If you’re curious and hardworking, you’ll find opportunities, even if you don’t have the traditional background for a role.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love exploring Chicago with my girlfriend— we’re always checking out new neighborhoods and restaurants. I also enjoy staying active, whether it’s walking, running, or biking by Lake Michigan. I train in Jiu Jitsu from time to time, and I’m a big fan of visiting family in Ohio, catching up with friends, and watching the Cleveland Guardians play baseball.

Keith is an excellent example of someone who is truly dedicated to their goals. He started here with the intention of becoming an Account Executive, and he not only achieved that milestone, but has also embraced every opportunity for growth along the way.
