For many managers and business owners, there can be a lot of apps and websites that can make your life easier. Wouldn’t it be great if you can take your favorite features of BigTime and connect them to an endless list of applications that you also love?
BigTime Software is proud to announce integration with Zapier, an application dedicated to connecting popular apps around the internet with zaps. If you haven’t heard of Zapier, it is a website where you can connect two of your favorite applications to automate workflows with triggers and actions. You don’t need to be a programmer to generate zaps because there is no coding involved. The workflow setup process is easy and intuitive for all our IQ PRO users to take advantage of.
Zapier’s setup process allows a BigTime administrator user to choose one application to be a trigger app while the secondary app will be your action app. As an example, you can make BigTime a trigger app in which the creation of a Project, Task, or Invoice can send an email or create a contact into your Google Account. You can also make another application into your trigger app to automatically create Tasks or Projects within BigTime.
The possibilities are endless when you switch it up between supported applications in order to generate a workflow that ends up making tasks that used to take hours end up taking just minutes of your day. To get started playing with zaps, the first step is to sign up for a free trial of Zapier by visiting their website at zapier.com. There are different levels of subscription that can enable other premium features.
To understand how it works, begin by clicking “Make a Zap!” on your Zapier home page.
MAKE A ZAP!
On step 1, you’ll be selecting your trigger and action app, which will begin your automated process before you can say “Zapier makes me happier”. Below is an example of a zap in which you can design. For example, a trigger can be the creation of a BigTime project to create a Google contact automatically with the fields that come from your BigTime Client information.
After you design your trigger and action, the next steps are authorizing the connection of BigTime to Zapier and then doing the same for your secondary app. Once you get the green check detailing that both accounts are working then you can begin.
You can control which triggers activate Zapier by selecting filters on fields from BigTime or other applications. Below I’ve specified to only create zaps for clients including the value “Chicago” in the Client city information.
On the final step for the setup process, you will be prompted to match up fields between BigTime and your other application just to make sure the data flows properly in your action app.
Once that’s complete, you’re done and ready to start zapping! Test your zaps, edit them, save them, and share with the zapping community.

The integration with Zapier is currently available for IQ PRO users. This additional feature is at no extra cost and will be included with your BigTime subscription.
We’ll be kicking off Integration with Zapier and BigTime by invitation basis only. So if you are interested in trying out the Zapier integration, click on the Zapier logo via the BigTime’s Zapier setup options available via your My Company > Integrations menu option and follow the instructions detailed there.
