BigTime Software delivers time-tracking, billing, and project management software for more than 2,000 professional firms, tracking over $2 billion (USD) of billable time each year. Our flagship product is a SaaS-based system that is custom-built for the professional services industry–specifically, accounting, architecture and engineering, consulting, creative, government contracting, IT services, and law firms. BigTime is a private equity-funded company based in Chicago committed to helping clients run professional services firms more efficiently, unlocking potential revenue and improving profitability within the knowledge economy.

Our Leadership

Brian Saunders

Founder & CEO

Brian Saunders is the founder and CEO of BigTime Software and a graduate of the University of Chicago who’s grown up inside technology. He’s lived through the boom (and bust) of the ’90s, the financial crisis of 2008, and the last decade’s explosive growth in the technology sector.  
Brian is a member of the Forbes Technology Council and has been featured in that magazine’s online publication (as well as Inc, Fast Company, Built in Chicago, Smart Company, CIO Magazine and elsewhere).

Jake Matyas


Jake Matyas is the COO of BigTime Software and a graduate of Muhlenberg College. He joined Brian Saunders in 2002 to help launch BigTime, and has had a hand in developing all business branches of the company. Jake places special emphasis on meeting each customer’s needs while pushing all areas of the company to continue to evolve towards new goals. Jake brings decades of experience consulting with Fortune 500 companies on topics including investor relations, market research and communication strategies.

Prior to joining BigTime, Jake held executive positions at Aon Financial Services–Finance and Online Communications, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Thomson Reuters Inc.

Peter Dedes


Peter oversees BigTime’s accounting and finance departments. Prior to joining BigTime, Peter was the CFO at Hireology, an HR technology firm, where he helped grow the company from $4 million ARR and 80 employees to $30 million ARR and over 200 employees in just over 3 years. Peter also spent time at INXPO, Groupon, GVW, and FTI Consulting.

Peter is on the executive committee of CFOChicago, a member of NextSeries, and also a member of Lawrence Hall junior board, a charity organization that helps inner-city youth.

Michael Morrison

SVP of Sales

Michael leads BigTime’s sales organization which works with professional services firms to increase their profitability by reducing the inefficiencies associated with managing and billing for their most valuable asset… their time.

Over his 20+ year career Michael has contributed to a diverse portfolio of technology companies ranging from early-stage startups to global category leaders such as The Nielsen Company and IBM. Michael also serves as a mentor to a number of future leaders in the Chicago area and is an active member of Chicago’s Sales Assembly.

Jami Klotz

SVP Of Product

As the head of product, Jami leads BigTime’s product management and product strategy functions. Jami’s focused on ensuring that the customers of today have the products they need to be the best in their vertical. She is a proven product leader with 20 years of experience developing disruptive technologies for fast-growing software companies. Using data and customer insights, she transforms Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms to engage users through actionable insights and agile design. Focused on customer driven product design, Jami drives a strong team of forward thinkers to deliver solutions optimized for the evolving challenges of the professional services industry.

Jami is a popular product and technology speaker and a mentor for women in Product & Technology in the Chicagoland area. Born and raised in the Chicagoland area she received her MBA from DePaul’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

Jason Stephenson

VP of Marketing

As the strategic leader of BigTimes’ marketing department, Jason oversees the implementation and execution of traditional and digital marketing initiatives, enhancing brand awareness, and demand generation. Jason is an accomplished B2B marketing leader with over a decade of experience developing marketing strategy and execution to drive customer acquisition, conversion, and overall revenue.

Prior to joining BigTime, Jason held management positions in both Marketing and Product Marketing at Booker Software (Acquired by MINDBODY, INC.) and Yodle, Inc. (Acquired by Web.com).
